A new chapter

Warmth you can feel from the first conversation

Medley House has welcomed celebrations for generations. Under new leadership, we are honouring that legacy while raising the bar on service, styling and the guest experience.

I took on Medley House with a clear intention: to create a venue where couples and hosts feel genuinely looked after — not processed. Where professionalism never comes at the cost of personality, and where every detail reflects the care behind it.

Having spent years in hospitality and event coordination, I know how much trust it takes to hand your celebration to someone else. That is why we lead with listening, transparent communication, and coordinators who stay with you from concept through to the last dance.

Whether you are planning an intimate ceremony, a corporate gathering, or a stay in our boutique guest lodge, you will find a team that treats your occasion as uniquely yours — because it is.

The founder's journey

My story

Where it began

Long before I ever planned a wedding or styled an event, I was the little girl rearranging rooms, admiring flowers, and dreaming about fashion and interiors. In fact, before enrolling to study a BA in Corporate Communications, my heart was set on becoming either an interior designer or a fashion designer. Looking back now, I realise those dreams never disappeared—they simply found a different way of coming to life.

Hospitality roots

My professional journey began in the corporate world, where I spent more than a decade learning the value of hard work, excellence and people. Starting at reception, I worked my way through sales and marketing within the hospitality industry, gaining invaluable experience that would later become the foundation of my business.

A leap of faith

Eventually, I took a leap of faith and started my first business in the beauty industry. It was there, while creating bridal makeup looks, that something unexpected happened—I fell completely in love with being part of a couple's love story. There is something profoundly special about witnessing the beginning of a family's legacy, and I knew I wanted to play a bigger role in those unforgettable moments.

Rugged Rose

In 2021, I founded Rugged Rose, a unique backyard venue designed for intimate weddings and celebrations of up to 50 guests. As word spread and COVID restrictions eased, clients and fellow industry professionals began inviting me to venues across Gauteng to design, plan and coordinate weddings and special occasions. What started as a small venue quickly grew into something much bigger.

Creativity & strategy

I discovered that my greatest strengths lie in combining creativity with strategy. I have a deep love for floral design and creating elegant, meaningful spaces, but equally, I thrive behind the scenes. My operational mindset allows me to anticipate challenges long before they arise, ensuring every celebration flows seamlessly while my couples remain fully present in the moments that matter most.

Leading with care

Along the way, one of my clients recognised these strengths and invited me back into the corporate world—this time within the wellness sector. I travelled nationally, planning and executing large-scale wellness events before progressing into leadership, managing teams of project managers and coordinators. Those years refined my leadership, strengthened my operational expertise, and reinforced my belief that exceptional events are built on thoughtful planning, strong systems, and genuine care for people.

Medley House

Then came the opportunity that changed everything: Medley House.

It wasn't simply another venue—it was the culmination of every dream, every lesson, every challenge and every experience that had prepared me for this moment. It felt as though every chapter of my life had been leading here. After completing what I know will be my final corporate role, I stepped fully into my calling to create unforgettable celebrations in a space that embodies everything I've ever envisioned.

Faith & gratitude

Above all, my life is built upon the firm foundation of my faith in Christ. It is the compass that guides every decision I make, the reason I serve with excellence, and the source of every opportunity I have been blessed with. I am deeply grateful for the unwavering love and support of my husband, children, family, friends, and the incredible clients who have trusted me to be part of their most cherished moments.

Whether I'm designing a wedding, planning a celebration, or welcoming guests to Medley House, my greatest joy is creating spaces where people feel seen, celebrated and deeply loved.

I cannot wait to welcome you into the next chapter of your story.
